Hi there!
I have a Mark IV probably from around 2007-2008.. recently I've been having tube-problems.. and as a poor student, I couldn't afford a full set of new tubes. My solution to the problem was to only swap the two outer tubes with a pair of EL34s, and switch into Class A, which should work fine, right?
When powering up, the fuse blew, and I figured it might be a preamp-problem. I bought a full set of 12AX7, and I replaced them all, hoping that my amp would work properly.
And it did! For about 20 minutes. Suddenly, my lead channel failed me, in the middle of a solo in a band practise... channel 1 and 2 worked just fine, but the lead channel had extremely low volume. It surprised me that the fuse didn't blow, so I figured there might be something wrong with my Mark IV.. I powered off the amp, and removed the fuse, so no one could power it up - it's safe for now.
Any ideas on what might be wrong?
