would swapping a roadster 2x12 combo for a med mark iv head + recto cab be fair? or practical?

It's a different sound...basically same level in versatility...just a completely different sound.

Why are you considering it? What are you looking for?

Ya two total different machine. I love my Roadster. I just don't love the format it comes in, the combo. Frankly I just want a half stack, and I do love Mark's. If I were to try and make a swap like that I'd most likely eventually try and then swap the mark iv head for a Roadster head if I could. Ultimate goal is what I describe as my ultimate rig. Mark V & Roadster in stereo. yihaw! Although triaxis looks friggin sweet. And so does the Diezel Herbert. Maybe two stereo rigs will satisfy my GAS for a while. One day.

Why not just trade the combo for a head? You should be able to get some money out of it, as the combos are more expensive.

Then, a Mesa 4x12 can be had CHEAP as heck now. I've seen them as low as $400.

GAS over ;)

For a while...

I've tried that but everybody I hit up who has a head is in need of cash or wants to go the ED route. It'd be sweet if that would work out though. I just saw a mesa straight traditional 4x12 for 450 on CL. that's the exact cab I want.
