Hi there,
I play high gain thrash metal and my tone is quite saturated
I am trying to connect a delay and eq pedal to my fx loop in my mark IV.
I wish to use the fx loop only when i need to play guitar solos. I use a boss line selector to activate both these pedals at the same time.
I use the same setup with my marshall and when i use the FX Loop the EQ pedal gives a lovely clean boost with a slight eq push in the mids. The volume knob on the boss line selector is very responsive in this setup and gives a great clean boost.
When I try the same thing with my Mark IV I can't get the volume boost. Even when i push the volume knob on the line selector it just mushes the sound and adds gain/fizz.
Is there a particular setting or trick to getting a similar result from the Mark IV effects loop that I am used to with my Marshall?
I would love to use my Mesa amp fulltime but if I can't get a clean boost for solos then I have to stick to the Marshall.
Cheers
