if i throw in my voodoo lab chorus and mxr delay into the loop, can i select them individually and also at the same time? with just my mark IV footswitch

No, is the simple answer. The Mark IV foot switch will simply turn on/off the loop itself, regardless of what is running through it. Meaning, you could have both pedals on, and then when you hit the FX loop switch, you would get both effects on simultaneously. If you want to switch them off/on individually, you will have to use the pedals themselves or some sort of midi switching and then an interface/loop, like a switchblade, or the like. There are many options these days.

Then, you can program the interface to include each pedal individually, or have both, or bypass them depending on your needs. I used this method with my Mark IV and a Rockman Midi Octopus w/ Remote Loops for years. Everything on the Mark IV can be midi switchable via the jacks on the back. It is a great way to do what you need.

Hope this helps...

if i only put 1 in the loop, should it by my carbon copy delay or voodoo lab chorus

I guess that depends on which you use most and feel is more crucial overall. For me, that would be the delay. I like a bit of delay to fatten things up and use that more on leads, as well. I definitely use chorus here and there too, however, not as much as my delay.

Good luck with your rig!! Mark IV's ROCK!!!

I would (and do) use the delay in the loop. 2 reasons: I use it more than the chorus which I often don't even bother bringing and, secondly, it works better.

My delay eats batteries more than anything else, so having it on top of the combo and in the loop makes the adapter run easier. Also, my delay is more sensitive to the volume with which it is slammed - say the difference between guitar signal straight or a boost overdrive on. I find in the loop, there is little difference. I just click on the loop and it behaves expectedly regardless of a boost on or which channel I am in.

Good luck and enjoy...
