I have a mark iv that needs new tubes. I saw that JJ are a little cheaper and i read some forums about how they are good but people talked about how it might not sound good. If I put these http://cgi.ebay.com/Matched-Quad-of-JJ-Tesla-6L6GC-Amp-tubes-New-6L6_W0QQitemZ110334950856QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVintage_Electronics_R2?hash=item110334950856&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50tubes from the link on my mark iv widebody would it effect the tone.

JJ's are not the 'end all' tube. Some like them, some don't. Only your ears can decide that. They do seem rugged, with a good lifespan, but not a choice for me in my Roadster.

The most important thing is that the tubes are picked to run in a MKIV, and meet Mesa's bias draw.

I would ask the seller that question before you pull the trigger on them.

Also, you might want to ask some tone opinions on the JJ's in the Vintage Era/Mark Series forum.
