Is it possible to use this footswitch
on the 2:100 to enable modern mode switching?
I tried it and the relay just spazzes out. It buzzes rapidly. So I opened the pedal and de-soldered the resistor and LED from the switch. It works now but I would like to somehow make the LED work so I can see it on the floor instead of having to eye my power amp (other than listening, I know a huge volume and tone difference is apparent between the 2 but that's besides the point).
I am curious why the relay or whatever was buzzing so hardcore when I tried to use the switch as-is (with the LED and resistor). Is it because there wasn't enough power to throw the relay completely on? Sorta like stuck relays in a car. It seemed to be wired in parallel with the switch circuit but I could be wrong as I dont have it in front of me right now (out of town).
Does the LED actually need the resistor? Or is because the mark 3 sends out more power through the footswitch cable than the 2:100 does, which would burn the LED up if it didn't have the resistor?
So anyway if anyone can tell me how to make this work with the LED again that would be really awesome and I'd be vastly grateful.
