I have been lurking for some time and have gotten great information here, so thanks for that, it is very much appreciated. I have recently acquired a Mark III head and am looking for some info that I cant seem to find anywhere else.

I got this in a trade for an acoustic guitar.

What I am looking for is to see if anyone here can tell if this has been modded, photo #10. Someone seems to think that it has been because of a tube missing. I can't really say yes or no on the matter, so I am hoping that anyone can help.

If you need more information please ask and I will respond and if more pics are needed let me know.

Thanks again

Hey man, welcome

Your amp does not have reverb right? (even though it was routed to fit a tank) you can see the black marker and black chassis hole plug in the back. I'm pretty sure it wasn't modded because without reverb, you only need 4 preamp tubes. If you pull the chassis it may say "DG" plus a number on the side... denoting Simul class and graphic EQ.... and week of production.

Yup, the big hole in the chassis is where the 12AX7 reverb tube would go if you had reverb, and the two smaller holes are where the in/out RCA jacks would go for the reverb tank. No mods there, you just don't have the factory reverb.
The mod you do have is the head shell. It's from a Mark IV. The mounting bracket for the Mark IV foot switch can be seen in photo #4, beneath the power cable and just to the left of the transformer.
See if you can pull off the front "grill" panel. It's held on by velcro. If you look close, there are two clips for spare pre-amp tubes on the back of that panel on the inside, and it looks like a bracket for a cooling fan, too!
Come to think of it, the A/C cable looks like it was replaced at some point, too. It looks too "new", and the ones I've seen don't have any labeling running down the cable. Just a guess, probably wrong.
Good pics. You have a nice blue stripe #24005 from 1988. Mine's #24337 from '89.
Welcome, bro. :D

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the replies and information.

Now to take the chassis out and do some cleaning.

Thanks again much appreciated!

Would anyone venture a guess as to the pricing? If there would be another trade that came along or something of that matter.
