And out of curiosity, can Mark IV's be run with 2xEL34 + 2x6L6?

Yes, as well as 4x6V6 in Tweed mode.

Huh? Why? The El34's would run cooler than normal since the socket is biased for a 6L6. There should not be any damage to the amp by running it like that but the EL's will be running cooler than one would probably like so it might not sound as good.

yeah, i got them mixed around... 6L6 in the wrong spot will burn them out..does that sound right..like in the recto's..

Even running the 6L6's in the outer sockets it 9/10 fine because it's a 30 watt tube.

I remember reading in a Mesa product manual that there is an amp where the EL34s are supposed to be on the inside... I forget what it was though. Maybe it was a special version of the Mark III?

The coliseum simul classes have the el34's on the inside.
