I just received a blue stripe. It may need a trip to the shop. The reverb is kinda weak sounding and I'm getting a little fizzing behind notes.

Until now I've been playing a purple stripe and wanted the blue to compare tones.

The blue is hotter for sure. On channel 1 on the purple I usually ran the volume at 6-7 to get the sound I wanted. It seems it breaks up much earlier on the blue and I'm running it at 4.

Does anyone whose played both is this normal?

Yea I've been swapping them out. I have a NOS RCA in v1 which should be good. I had to try two tubes in the reverb before I got one that sounded good.

I've been completing getting a tester for all the tubes I've aquired over the years. I try my best to keep them labaled but most end up mixed up in a box.

I also have a new preamp set on order from eurotube so I'll see how it sounds when I get those in

I'm hoping it solves the fizzle I'm getting after notes. It seems to get more noticeable the higher I raise the volume pot.

My issues came down to a bad PI tube I believe.

I have her retubed and she sounds great now.
