My Mark II makes swooshing and hissing noises. It is not my guitar or gear - it makes this noise even when the guitar is muted or unplugged. If I switch off the standby, it goes away. The noise is not always there, it seems to come and go. I just replaced my power tubes and pre-amp tubes with Tung Sol 6L6GC STR's and 12AX7's. The noise is both before and after the tube job.
