I recently bought a Mark II C that had the + modification done to it about a month ago by Mike Bendenelli. I haven't received the amp yet, but wonder if I should have the EQ added to it or not? Hoping to hear from those that did this mod. Happy you did it? Wish you hadn't fooled with it?

The other thing is of course the face plates are long gone and they can do the mod but would have to use a Mark III plate at this point. The Mod is $400 and obviously a Graphic EQ pedal is a cheaper route, but is doing a pedal in front 99% of having it built in? what say you on the matter? Should it be left stock and just do a pedal in front or an EQ after the head instead?

There's 2 paths here:

1) If you have a gut feeling that you may ever resale the amp, don't do the mod. You'll lose value.

2) If you plan to keep it forever and don't care what people on this board have to say about it not being 100% original, get the mod. Mesa's EQ is better than the eq's you'll find on pedals.

About the GEQ upgrade:
I sent an e-mail to mesa boogie about the EQ upgrade and got the answer that they didn't have the parts to do the upgrade, I even told them I had a faceplate.
But I never got the answer of what they were missing.

Hello there,
thanks for your email.
Unfortunately, we no longer have the parts to add the EQ. As for the pilot light, you will need to order that from your local distributor. Here is their info:

I have always preferred without the EQ, just sounds sweeter. I was so glad when Doug west wrote his piece in the Mark V manual about preferring without the EQ. I always sensed for me, I repeat for me was sweeter. For all u guys with the EQ, your amp is just as good, just different. DONT TOUCH IT MY FRIEND!!

Keep it all original and slam it with a parametric. 8)
