As a long time mark 3 user (best amp in the world) i know all to well the problems of balancing the channels because of the shared tone stack. In my experience this is more of a problem in the earlier models which i prefer to use as two channel amps (either clean/lead or clean/crunch) when not using pedals. To simulate the mark 3 voicing i use the following pedals loaded straight in front of the amp to give a clean/crunch/lead setup(with the amp clean of course) standard ts-9/keeley ds-1/keeley ts-9(mod plus)boss super chorus/dd-3/rv-5. I use the first ts-9 as a clean boost with the level all the way up and the drive all the way down and tone between 1 and 2. The ds-1 and other ts-9 are set with the gain maxed(the ds-1 for heavy lead/rythmn/ and the other ts-9 for crunch rythmn/bluesy lead) both are boosted by the first ts-9 when in use.Add some chorus, delay and verb when needed( i have the reverb pedal on all the time) and voila
