JD,

Thanks again for this awesome read! Again, reading these vintage ads kind of puts me in memory of when all this stuff was up and coming and discussed very highly with my friends and I at a very early age. Trying to replicate the sounds of our heroes at the time was pretty costly, but well worth the wait to be able to afford one on my own down the road.

Best,
~Nep~

It's amazing how the IIB gets so little credit for the groundbreaking technologies it introduced. Simul Class being the first, The first ever effects loop, The first 300 series, the first Boogie 412, the MS12, SUS 4 Shockmounts. The C+ stole the IIB's thunder though.

that's why i bought mine, in 1982.

i studied all the literature available, and then started paying attention to who was using it to record with.

i was gigging full time at the time, and wanted a head that was road worthy.

also, wanted the 2 channels.

for 4 years that head was on the road 24/7 and never ever let me down.

i guarantee, i sold a bunch of boogies, thru my live work and folks coming up and saying 'what the hell is that amp? sounds great!'

at the time, i had a pair of roland closed back 1x12 cabinets, i loaded with EV SRO's, and i'd blow away almost any marshall half stack, other guitar players would just shake their heads in disbelief, and ALWAYS wanted to play thru it.

LOL

it's fairly common now, there are so many killer amps out there, but back in the day, having that little boogie was like alchemy.
