I got a bunch of settings for the Mark IIC+ I want to toy around with and I was wondering how you would go about mapping them to a TriAxis.

I know the TA has a preset combination of which knob is pulled and which isn't but what I'm interested in is this:

IIC+ volume=TriAxis Gain?
Lead Master= 2:90 "Level" control?
Master 1= TriAxis Master?

Is that about right?

Howdy,

**Edited Again** Sorry brain not working today.

Volume = Triaxis Gain

Lead Drive = Triaxis Master

Master = Power Amp Level

Unfortunately even with the exact same settings the Triaxis will sound quite different from a Mark series amp. From my experience if you want get get close to a real mark tone, you need to run the Dynamic Voice quite high like 9 or 10 to match the 5 band EQ on a mark amp because the DV control also acts as a mixer and only when its on 10, is it running at 100% mix. Read the manual if you don't understand what Im talking about.

Thanks, I'm aware of the mixing properties.

I guess mapping IIC+ settings is out of the question because masters as high as I see some Lead Drives on IIC+ settings would kill me and small animals in a range of 2 square miles :mrgreen:

Hey,

Yea it really serves no good purpose matching masters. But here is some more advice for matching: I found the Triaxis has a lot more gain than my old Mk3 combo and also the Quad preamp that I own now, I'd say it has 20% more gain at the same settings as a Mark amp so set the Triaxis a bit lower. But at the end of the day I just suggest you make it sound as good as you can to your own ears, if your seeking another tone (C+) then you really need to buy that amp.

I sold my Triaxis a few weeks ago after I got the Quad preamp, it wasn't even a competition. If you ever get the chance, try out a Quad or Studio preamp, they may not have the versatility of the Triaxis but the TONE! Its killer!! and its the closest you will get to a C+ in rack form.

Nah I'm not trying to get a specific tone, I just look up some settings when I want something different and try 'em out, since I found some IIC+ settings I tried mapping them and it didn't sound that great so I figured I must be doing something wrong.

Actually when I was shopping for a TriAxis I saw a Quad go for like half of the TriAxis' used price. Sometimes I wish I would have bought that Quad but to be honest, the TriAxis' tone cuts the mustard just fine and the MIDI switching+programability is great, since I need my switching to be as simple as possible because I'm also doing vocals while playing.

Believe me if I would ever, EVER see a good used IIC+ I would sell my rack in an instant and get it... but Boogies alone are VERY scarce where I'm from yet alone a IIC+ so I don't see that happening anyday soon.
