I am going to put a Mark 25 chassis in a combo cabinet and the last thing I want to do is have a 12 inch speaker in it. When I read a post about the M25 not have the detail in the low end or how it sounds under-powered compared to the Mark V, I wonder why some guys just don't buy the Mark V. I want a small amp with a small speaker to use where I can't bring my full size amp. Currently I'll use my Tech 21 10 watt amp with an eight inch speaker for this purpose. It is a good little amp for playing along with acoustic guitars at open mics and my full size amp intimidates most guys running the show. The "eight inch speaker won't have any low end," well I can't say that myself because I owned a GK with eight inch speakers and it had a ton of low end. I'd like to make either a 8" or 10" thiele type enclosure. I have access to great pieces of lumber and a some friends I grew up with, the Kingsland Co., have a CNC machine to cut the dove-tail in the wood. It's like a $1600 upgrade for the reserve wood from Mesa for a head cabinet, if this works out with Kingsland, maybe I could market the combo cabinets. Any thoughts?
