Just curious if anyone knows Lynch's settings on his Pre 500's. Did he use Red or Orange Channels?

Was he the one that started the "pre 500" thing?

Has anyone at Boogie verified this?

he's the dude most credited with starting it. Don't know about his settings, but here's some info and pics on them:

By this do you mean does Mssa recognize George Lynch as the coiner of the "pre500" phrase or does Mesa recognize the significance of the "pre500"

I would say that Mesa recognizes neither. Early on when looking for a 2 Channel DR, and before I had some experience with them, I asked Mesa about the significance of the 2 Channel. I was told that "Any tone the 2ch can achieve the current production 3 Ch can achieve but the settings will not be identical."

They say basically the same thing about the MKIV compared to the IIC+. Most amp companies feel that their new models sound better than the old ones. The last thing they want is a bunch of people calling them about making a pre-500 reissue.

They also say the same about the Mark IVA versus B.. take it with a grain of salt. I agree...no company wants to sway you from purchasing a new product in favor of an old one when they'll make no money on the sale.
