I have been slowly getting used to the amp after 6 months now and after putting some new tubes in, I feel I am ready to stop using distortion/OD pedals and using channel 2 more (Amperex bugle boy sounds sweet).

I was also thinking that I would use the solo function, and the master volume, as I am so sick of keeping track of the levels on pedals too, especially in gigs. I have had the hard bypass on, but I think that I would make the jump. No actual pedals in the FX loop. I wanted to hear from some long time lss owners what they finally settled on,especially gigging ones

Thanks!

I like the sound of the amp more with the loop bypassed...but using it every week for gigs - the solo switch is just too valuable for me to live without.

Thursday thru Saturday = solo button

at home or in the studio = bypassed

I use pedal for the tone of that pedal and not for volume. I don't use Fx loop, just guitar into the pedal and into the input. I enable the loop for live gig since the solo switch is a great feature. At home I have the loop bypassed and use the guitar volume to control, ... well, the volume.
Now I wish that the LSS has a foot switch button to enable the drive, so I can go from clean to mayhem :?

If you get the chance try a ToneLabe into the front input. If you really want to get different sound and it just sounds like all tube and i dont think the loop is necesary at all.

Another cool thing with the ToneLab is the tube really makes a differance, i like using lower powered tube. And the tube probably last for years.

On a patch website i downloaded a Satriani patch that sustains forever. Very 6L6 sounding and all the OD you can want.

Not that that helps with your post but, anyone else use Vox ToneLab? The AC30 with treble boost, auto wah etc. with a LSS is pretty cool.

I have found playing with these bits and the loop volume control effect tone and clean headroom. Therefor go ahead and play with it.
