I know something about guitar amplifier and if we used only two tubes in a 100W amp (with 4 tubes) we must be careful with impedance. In Lonestar we have indipedent switch in both channel for 50W and 100W (on V.2 ther is a 10W mode but it is SE). If on one channel is selected 50W, on second 100W how amp works. On my old Marshall Super Bass I disconect two tubes but if I use 16 ohm cabinet I put speaker impedance selector on 8 ohm. I think this is interesting question!!!

The Mesa's are such hardy amps (transformers) that it really doesn't matter what impedence it's set on, (4/8) just what sounds best. I like the 8 ohm for a fuller sound in most cases.

Thanks
But, I know two tubes needs about 4-4,5K primary impedance transformer. Four tubes needs lower impedance. If we disconnect two tubes in four tubes circuit its like we put 4 ohm speaker in 8 ohm output vtransformer, or 8 ohm speaker in 16 ohm output.
