I was wondering if any of you know of a clip on youtube or anywhere else that showcases the Classic's reverb. I just want to compare what I'm getting on my reverb with it. I love the overall sound of my Classic but am somewhat disappointed with the reverb. When it is all the way up it sounds like my Shiva on 1 or 2. I've changed the reverb tube driver and checked all of the connections to the tank. I know I can run other units though the loop but it would be nice to have the onboard reverb. Maybe it's a defective tank.

Maybe I should put a multi-meter on it again. I took off all of the connections and cleaned them. The other problem is that I am getting noise on channel 1 with the reverb on and not on channel 2. I hope I'm not dealing with a bad internal reverb circuit. I would think that if it's the tank that I would have noise on both channels and be getting no reverb at all.

I called them and gave them the details and they said that the short heads had some reverb problems. I guess I'll have to take it in. One strange thing that I noticed was that the reverb tanks in the short head are reversed. The part number of the tank they use is listed as a horizontal open side down and Mesa turns them upside down and covers the coils with a plate.

I wish I had a short head. Is yours blue or black? I've pondered taking the reverb tank out just because I never use the reverb and it's easy enough to plug back in. If I want reverb I just dial some in with my G-Major.

It's blue. I am so impressed with the sounds on both channels. This is one great sounding amp. In the end, I'll probably just go with outboard effects. It just bugged me about the reverb as I am always tinkering with my amps and sounds.

I've got the short head ( a blue one) and have never noticed a noise problem with the reverb. But, I play mine 100% on tweed and do not turn it up super loud. I love the amp, and it sits on my Bogner cube like it owns it.

I'v sort of given up on the problem. I called Mesa again today and was told that was the way the reverbs sound. I guess I was expecting too much. I still have the noise on channel 1 but I guess it sounds ok on channel 2. Oh well, I don't use allot of reverb anyway, usually some delay and chorus. Those Bogner Cubes are really nice. I have two of the larger 2-12's and they weigh a ton but they sound great. I still can't get over how great these Lonestar's sound. I know some owners have said that they are not all that thrilled with the drive channel but I am getting some really good blues sounds out of it and channel 1 is in a class by itself!
