Try octatonic, or the whole-tone scale.
Octatonic has 2 versions, depending on the first interval:
Either you play the intervals 1-1/2-1-1/2 etc... or you play 1/2-1-1/2-1 etc...
1-2-b3-4-b5-b6-6-7(-8 ) or
1-b2-b3-b4-b5-5-6-b7(-8 ).
Whole-tone is just that, every interval is 1 tone:
1-2-3-#4-#5-b7(-8 )
This I use sometimes when I improvise on a #11 or a #5 chord like C7#11. You can't really use it on regular rock music, since it has the #5. Powerchord based songs are out of the question.
