i'm a skier...
but i've been in florida for the last 8 days.......
81 degrees.
LOL

but we've gotten enormous amounts of snow here over the last two weeks, as has most of the northwest, and the avalanches are epic.

even small ones, have been deadly.
case in point:


a guy got buried under almost 6 feet of snow, was immediately dug out, and still wasn't breathing.
they got him going tho, and he skied out.


this little movie was made be the local avalanche expert/authority.

almost everyone i know around here, has ridden terrain much steeper, and deeper, than this particular spot.

watch this, and if you're a rider, think about terrain you've been on before...
this was only about 29 degrees of pitch.
