Let's talk Speakers

I've got an Express 5:25 1x12 combo which came stock with a Vintage 30. I've also got a Mesa 1x12 cab with a V30. I'm finding the V30's to be very bright and harsh sounding.

Could I put a Celestion G12H-30 in the combo since it is only 30 watts? Also, do you guys recommend keeping one of the V30's in the stack, or get rid of them both for something else?

I have the same opinion on V30 with 5:25, harsh and not really great...I was thinking about celestion greenbacks but finally I got an Eminence legend gb128, a greenback based speaker with more power and a bit more modern...

and yes you can put g12h-30 in mesa 5:25...

also, I kept my V30 since it's an older english made one and I will probably put it in a 2x12 box with Eminence...

You could put almost any speaker in there without fear of over driving it. But I'd opt for something that gets pushed at lower power to find their sweet spot when the power stage clips. Greenbacks come to mind. And a closed back cab would keep bass tight. Ultimately, you know I'm always leaning toward a 2x12 with ET-65s.
