I've been messing with the 2C+ mode for rhythm. How's this?

Very interesting - it sounds kind of low gain yet crushing at the same time. I really enjoyed this!

'Nothing complicated really. The tones were from the TriAxis/2:90 with a Lexicon MPX-1 in the loop. The roto effect in the right channel was from Lexicon with a light reveb. I had a light reverb on the left channel too with the neck pickup. Then I came in on 2 more channels at 15 seconds for the heavy parts, with the effects loop off.

I used a 57 mic into an ART Gold mic pre to an EMU 1212m sound card. I used Cubase Studio 4 software, and set the mic eq to accentuate the presence. It was recorded pretty quite, and the guitars were out of tune!

excellent job....just a another shining example of the kind of stuff the triaxis can do if programmed properly. it cracks me up when folks want to put it down cause it "sounds plastic"....."doesnt have touch and feel of my head" etc.......blah blah blah.......i dare anybody to record a more organic and in your face guitar tone than what leadfootdriver just did.

what mode and settings were you using for the heavy tones? they were great.

That's a bold statement. :D

I had it set pretty bright, but it works with 2-4x12 cabs with ET65's. I've already changed the settings tho. I'm always changing the settings, because tones can sound different from day to day sometimes!

For that clip I had it on LD2 Yellow with Deep and Modern in. These settings will be different for everyone tho because the different tubes people are using, along with the state of wear that they're in. Plus the guitar you're using, the pickups, ect...

Awesome tone and recording! I remember back when I got my Triaxis years ago how happy I was when I discovered what the MkIIC+ mode could do in high gain Rhythm. Good stuff. Thanks for sharing
