Hey guys, I picked up a used Mark V a few weeks ago for a great price and I've been loving it ever since! Yesterday however, I was practicing with my band for a little over 2 hours straight. At the end, we were packing up and i was just going over a part to the past song we had played with my bass player. I was in channel 1 on the Fat setting and all of a sudden I was getting a tone that made it sound like one of my speaker cones had ruptured. Upon further investigation, that wasn't the issue as we plugged my V into another cab and the weird distorted sound was still present underneath the normal Fat tone. Eventually it just went away on its own after puzzling over it for a few minutes. I havent had a chance to test it out since, but will tonight. I realize this could be any one of a thousand issues, from cables to power issues and everything in between. I was just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this or something similar before? Could my power tubes be dying? It is a used head after all with what looks to be original tubes in there. Fortunately this is the only issue Ive had with it so far. Like I said the amp has been a dream so far and it makes playing that much more fun!
