I have a rectifier preamp and mesa power amp as you all know.
I'm also an idiot, as you all know.

I'm contemplating doing pedals for effects with a true bypass loop. What I'm wondering is this.
Is there any device out there that I can press one button and have my amp switch from distortion to clean with chorus.
Meaning

guitar > ------------------> clean with chorus
> plain distortion

I'll obviously have some pedals in the distortion channel but I'm trying to get around tap dancing.

Any ideas? My amp doesn't do midi, nor do I understand it. I don't want to use the effects loop in the preamp as it's parallel and sucks the crap out of the tone.

Someone on another forum mentioned.

"There are midi systems and custom made analoge switching systems for this. I reccomend building your own, OR wiring a loop into your Mesa's footswitch. Something like replacing the Clean/Dirty footswitch with a DPDT switch, that could toggle between CleanD/irty and the loop On/Off at the same time. You'd have to drill holes on the footswitch housing for an In and Out jack. It's a doable thing"

However, my footswitch is not wires, it's a board.

there is one product that comes to mind mainly because i bought one about 3 hours ago.... its called the rjm rg-16.... 8 audio loops and 8 switching loops..... basically the 8 switching loops will control switching the amp and the 8 audio loops to bring in and out pedals..... the 8 switching loops is overkill for your recto rack but the unit is worth the money alone for the 8 audio loops.... its midi but sooooo easy to program.... and yes even a caveman can do it..... it will really clean up and streamline your rig and it has a buffered loop so there will be no signal loss.... i just picked mine up for $500 but its money well spent to get that "i hit one button and everything changes" setup

not sure with your equipment as I am new to mesa, but with my DR I can set the loop selector to be on vintage channel only, drop a chorus in the loop, and then the loop will be only engaged when I am in orange channel.
