So, i always wondered if the studio preamp is basically the same as the preamp of my Studio.22+.. i know i somewhere read (or someone told me) that it's actually the preamp from IIC+ :?:
I know that the SP has some push-pull pots which my studio.22+ doesn't have, but basically, do they sound the same?

hi mrmot, the SP (which i own) should be very similar to the preamp section of the Mark IIC (not the C+ i think). The SP actually doens't have push-pull pots, but rocker switches for rhythm bright, lead fat and lead bright. I think that lead channel voicing should be very similar to your Studio .22+, but probably the SP would provide more gain.

hey ytse_jam!
thanks a lot for clearing it out for me

p.s. i haven't forgotten about your "demand" for studio.22+ clips! I recently bought an SM57 and should get a mixer soon (in the next two weeks, i hope) so i will make a lot of clips!
With a boss ge-7 in loop i managed to nail a lot of sounds, "metallica" tone, pantera CFH tone, G'n'R, SRV.. this amp's got it all!
I also decided to make a 2*12 box for it in the next few months), V30 loaded

oh yes, i think the 2x12 will help a lot! i liked your old clips, so, yes, i'm waiting for the new ones!
