Is everyone's Studio Pre noisy when any knob is past 6?

My best results so far are to have the treble knob around 7-8 and the bright switch on, while trimming the right-most slider on the graphic eq to compensate. I also like the gain and/or volume knobs up around 7.

But I've noticed that once I pass 5.5 or 6, there is a very annoying hum/noise introduced into the signal. So far I have been unable to tame it with the noise suppressor in my Boss GT-6.

Anyone else's Studio Pre noisy when you get the knobs up high? Any tips on getting rid of the hum? (I tried the ground switch.)

I have never noticed any significant noise increase when I've had values over 6 on the studio pre- but I'm curious if any one else has had that experience. I switched to using a rectifier recording preamp as my main preamp, and love the upgrade...
