Messing with my Recto Pre the other day and noticed an imput jack on the back of the unit. Is that another place were I can run my guitar into? Or can I wire a 2nd guitar through there?

it was designed for the use of another rackmount device to keep cables off the front of the rack. you could run a second guitar but youd be better off using an AB box for that.

Thanks for the answer. Here is another question. What other types of rackmount devices?

The primary use I've seen for a rear input on a preamp is either from a tuner or a wireless reciever.

When you plug something into the back it bypasses the front one, so you can't run both at the same time....it's either one or the other.

I use mine to run the output of a rack tuner into the input of the amp.....keeps everything in the rear that way.
