Hi everyone, I'm new here. I changed this post to just be an introduction of myself.

I own a Triple Recto and an F-50. Between the two of them, I can get a huge amount of sounds. I've been playing guitar for 16 years.

Looking forward to learning from my fellow guitar enthusiasts on this site.

Thanks.

Hi everyone, I'm new here. Thanks in advance for any and all tips. I did some searching for threads on this issue and learned a lot, but never really found anything directly on point.

I have a Triple Rectifier I bought new back on '07 when I had money for such reckless indulgences. I'm a "bedroom player" (I know--I have the wrong amp for that, but it's just so cool!). I have the Triple going to a THD Hotplate attenuator set to "load." From there, it is connected to a Hughes & Kettner Red Box, then to an M-Audio interface, then to my MacBook. This allows me to happily play and record through headphones. In the FX loop I have a Seymour Duncan Pickup Boost, which really seems to do wonders for the sound.

My question:

Any suggestions on how to set this up any better for headphone playing? (getting a different amp or just cranking it through my 2x12 cab are not options).

I'm interested in a nice hard rock, heavy blues tone.

P.S. I do realize how completely ridiculous it is to use a Triple in this way.

THANKS EVERYONE!

"completely ridiculous" well put

Hi! I have this huge grenade launcher and I'm just trying to get rid of some flies that are in my living room...
You're right that it's rediculous when there are so many WAYYY less expesive ways of headphone playing available. Sounds like you have the best setup possible for your inefficient hobby. Enjoy.

Welcome to the boogie board Triple! What happened to the link that you posted yesterday about the Triple Rec? There was some great info listed on that site.

What's up JC? I'm not sure what happened to the link, maybe I accidentally deleted it....

Here it is

http://www.tonymckenzie.com/

I found this web page in the same google search that helped me find The Boogie Board. This Tony McKenzie guy has some really good ideas about how to use the Triple and a few other amps. I put his ideas into practice and I was very pleased. I e-mailed him and he wrote back and was a nice guy.

Take care man!

Triple, I believe the **hombre** in question is "seosoft", better known as "seo-bot". Going to get a licking for sure!

Never met him... Thanks!

Good night everyone. Gotta get up early for work.

I can honestly say that this is the first time I have ever received a death threat on a music gear forum.

Thanks Neptical!! I like learning and discussing with fellow Boogie owners. Wish I had even more Boogie amps.

Who (or what) is Seosoft? Whatever it is, I assure you I have nothing to do with it. I'm just a guy with a bedroom studio full of guitars and amps. Playing guitar is my hobby and has been for 16 years.

Seosoft is a spam-bot that goes into forums like ours and posts a bazillion spam ads. Your title to this thread resembles the one it's using. No worries.
