I've been out of Mesa amps for a while, with the exception of the short time with a TA-15 a couple years ago..... Well, today I picked up a Mark V 1x12 combo!

I've been looking for a small sized, but powerful, multi-channel amp for the gigs where a full pedalboard won't fit up front. I'd like to be able to only take the Mark V, and a wah pedal - maybe a Tubescreamer (and a tuner, of course) and do a full show with it.....On paper, the Mark V seems to fit the description perfectly!

I've had *about* every form of the Rectifier you can think of (Single, Dual, Triple, Rectoverb, Tremoverb, Roadster & Road King), but I've never had any of the Mark series amps......

I think I'm going to need some help with the Mark ;)

Too bad I have a few weeks until the next gig, this is gonna kill me!

I would suggest a delay pedal. The Mark V pretty much can do all the driving and on leads you can use the "Solo" if you find you need a boost. To my ears when I set the boost to about the same volume level as the overall output, when I hit the "Solo" switch it just opens up the amp a bit, a little crisper.

I use a delay (MXR Carbon Copy) and a chorus (Boss CH1) in the loop and a Cry Baby up front. On small clubs I will set the delay and chorus to just make the mix not so in your face park the pedals on top of the amp and leave them on.
