All, just trying to figure out if there's a definitive answer to why the Presence is on the front of Hetfield's Crunch Berries IIC+ amp that he seems to use on every record since MOP.

I have a 60W Domestic/Reverb/EQ and a 100W Export/Simul/Reverb/EQ - neither has the presence on the front of the amp. So wondering what's up with that presence on the front.

I tried to search, but never really found an answer or a relevant thread.

The presence is always on the back on all models. The Reverb was moved to the front on the long chassis.
It could be swapped to the front foot switch jack on regular models or swapped with the reverb on long chassis.
It's much easier to adjust the presence in front when using a giant rig.

The answer to the "Crunch Berries" face plate is easy. They made it for him that way.
Notice it's a gain boost as well. He is not the only one to have customized face plates either.
Their are two SOB's out there with graphic EQ's made for Vivian Campbell. The artwork is all the same,
so all the face plate company had to do was move it around.

It's a IIB, but look at the faceplate.

Ed,
is the "Crunch Berries" a c+ with gain boost or a c?

Crunch Berries is a + with the gain boost face plate.

The gain boost mod is the same as the ++ "Metallica" mod? So if an amp has a ++ it will have the same gain boost mod that Crunch Berries has?
