here's another: http://cgi.ebay.com/84-MESA-BOOGIE-MARK-IIC-MARKIIC-MARKIIC-MARKII-AMP-/120697665327?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c1a24372f#ht_720wt_1141
do you think this guy made a mistake by not using mesa caps? or no big deal...
I think for the hardwood head, anything much above $2000 is starting to get pricey. $2500 is getting ridiculous, and $3500 is Crazy Eddie... (insane). Ten years for now it's probably worth $3500 to $4000.
Personally, I'm totally happy to get my HRG IIC and 60 watt IIC for $800 and $700, then send then to mike b for upgrades. My 60 watt is the exact same thing, minus hardwood and reverb, for $2200 less. Do I want an original IIC+? yeah, but not because it will sound better, cause it wont. my opinion, plus the circuits are the same. no 105 PT, but I'm a rhythm player and the 100 PT is great for heavy stuff.
all that said, I can't blame somebody for paying $3000 for this, even if it does need a restoration from mike b.
