I would like to hear what some of you have gotten out of recording with the EVM 200 watt speakers.

I'm starting to think that i just don't like these speakers recorded. They don't sound warm at all, but the funny thing is i like them in the room and i like the sound i hear from the cab. But stick a mic on them and i haven't had any luck.

And an MC90 with an open back cab :x I really dislike the sound of the MC90 in my 2x12 halfback. But when i had them in my old 4x12 metal grill with the top sealed off, i loved them. I need to find a back panel.

Let's hear those clips.

I'll have clips in a few days to a few weeks (depends how fast my band finishes a few more songs), but the main thing to remember when recording-
Put your mic in front of the cab, put noise cancelling headphones on, and re-EQ your settings so they sound good in the phones. The settings could sound like crap in the room, but that doesn't matter when recording. I keep my head on a stand close to me at the opposite side of the studio and headphones on at all times, so I can tweak and hear what it sounds like through the mic.

Do you just mean sound isolating headphones, or actual noise-cancelling headphones? The loud, sudden noises make my Bose noise-cancelling headphones cut out and reset themselves so I can't use them for anything loud in the studio.
