But I went and messed with my amp without plugging my guitar in. I was getting squeals on channel 3 at practice with no signal going to the amp. Plugged my cab back in and turned the amp on with the same settings at practice and same squeal. I was in mark iv mode, but when I switched to extreme the squeal would go away. I could turn my gain down to about noon and it would go away also, but I luvs me some gain! If I turned the mids way down it would go away too. I finally discovered I had it on bright, and if I switch it to normal, I could crank the gain without the squeals. Now gotta wait to Tuesday to make good adjustments cause my gigging cab is at our practice space.
Carry on!

It sounds like one of your preamp tubes is a bit microphonic anyway, you might want to grab a spare one for the inevitable moment when things get really bad. :)
