Hey guys,

Terrible with these things, but I'm looking to pick up a 2x12 to go along with my recto cab.. I found a great deal on a 2x12 3/4 open back cab, with c90s in it... I play punk and metal mostly, so cleans aren't really ever used... how would this cab be with my iic+ and mark v, using say settings similar to master of puppets... i've never played with an open back, or c90s, so i'm not quite sure about it... it's an hour from here, and i don't really want to drive an hour if I'm just going to hate it.

thanks!

I had C90's once and didn't like them, I found a huge difference when I switched to V30's. I'd also suggest a closed back cab for metal, I play metal myself. G12T75's aren't so bad either.

Can't say for sure as I don't play metal but those 3/4 cabs sounds huge!

And they are actually pretty big physically. If you stood one on it's side they appear to be almost the same size as a vertical 2x12.

C-90's with a C+ are not for me but a few others on the board really like them with their C+.
I'd say an hours drive is worth doing to check out the cab. My gut is telling me you'll like it.

I went and tried it out, wasn't big on it... it didn't sound terrible, for what I need though... it didn't do the job, luckily, i got my eye on a 2x12 rec. cab... hopefully gonna grab that soon... Being is a band is no bueno anymore, i've picked up 2 new guitars, and now a 2x12 cab... and i still got road cases to pick up for everything... so is the life of a musician....

Picked up a vertical 2x12 today.. I think it's a vertical recto cab, it's loaded with v30s, and I got it for a steal... I'm finished with my rig!! for now.
