can some of you Mesa amp ppl please tell me about bad power issues and how I can protect my Roadking?

I just paid a lot of money to have it fixed for the fourth time. I tend to tinker with tubes but I used only Mesa matched tubes and Tube Depot matched tubes.. I experimented with pre amp tubes and was lucky enough to discover the SPAX7 and got 2 from 1982!!

Anyhow I here there are power conditioners that are not racked Furmans. Im a pedal board and Amp guy... is there anything I can learn about that doesn't need to be racked up?

Check out the Furman AR1215 Regulator, not Conditioner, although it does that too.
Yes, it's a rack unit and it's heavy. It assures you of 117 vAC no matter what goes in, and the usual spike and RF protection, etc.
"Conditioners' are toys.

How about a 20 dollar Tripp lite socket thingy?

What are you looking for out of the unit? What kind of "Bad Power Issues" are you dealing with?

Chances are that the $20 Tripp Lite would be nothing more than a basic surge protector, minimal protection at best.

You're trying to protect a $2500 amp and your pinching pennies??

well my Roadking has been in the shop 4 times and sent to Mesa for a final warranty repair. I have 2 independant electrical circuits for my gear but the bad power issue has just cost me 342.00

So yea Im pinching pennies and lots of my guitar pals are begging me to ditch Mesa for the XTC head....!!!

and its Turkey day coming up lol....

Im going crazy

I can understand your thinking after a repair bill of that size.

I still will not recommend the "el-cheapo" surge protector. Besides, we don't even know what your power issue is. Was it a spike? Surge? Overvoltage? Brownout/undervoltage? DC noise in the AC voltage? Was anything else electrical in the building damaged? Power may not even be the issue. You could of just had bad tubes, regardless of brand.

The only thing that $20 Tripp Lite may protect you from is a large power surge, but I'd bet that damage would be done to the amp before the Tripp Lite reacted. It may even be just an MOV, just like the one that is already inside your amp.

At minimum this is what I would suggest:
