How finicky is the Quad?

Do they have reliability problems? Are they hard to dial in? Are they sensative to incoming voltage and ground if those have issues? Do they typically have a lot of background noise, hum?

since no-one else is interested in your post:

1. The Quad is built like a tank and so should be very reliable as long as there are no underlying issues with LDRs etc. Otherwise expect no problems.
2. Yes. Very. (IMO)
3. Never had any issues with voltage supply or grounding. Use Furman conditioner to be on safe-side.
4. Mine is as quiet as a little mouse having a nice sleep. Tubes will make big difference.

I downloaded the user manual from Boogie's site. Pick one of the tone settings, and go from there, but make subtle adjustments.

hey,

new to boogie board, but i've had a mesa 2:90 paired with a digitech gsp 2101 for about 16 years and it's been great. i just picked up a quad that has midi, and so far so good. I'm actually temporary disabled, so i can't use my right hand yet, and left isn't so good either now, but i can plug in and make some good "noise" it's quiet, looks solid. I'm hoping for the best. let me know what you think of yours!
