How different sounding is a dc-10 than a dc-3?

I have a dc-3, which I love, but I am interested in how the dc-10 sounds. Can it get into the dark, metal, rectifierish realm? There is a head for sale locally for $700 and I am really tempted. That is unless I end up spending all of my money on a guitar or two in the mean time. Its a sickness.
Anyway, if anyone has experience with both, please let me know if there's enough of a difference to justify having them both.

i never heard a dc3,but i have a dual rec. and just got a dc10 2 12 combo for 550$ its a bad ***,,will do metal with ease.use the built in graphic eq :twisted:// check youtube for vids,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFFP8nG2jzM i would go plat that ***** before its gone,goodluck
