I have and love my Rectoverb 50 about 9 years old. I have changed the tubes a few times, last time maybe a year ago. I don't play out but probably play semi gently 7 hours or less a week. Not driven too much.

Problem #1....Ok, so I'm sitting there playing the other night low volume and clean no problem. Suddenly the amp goes soft. I can hear it but i lost about 20db. Hmmm. I click to channel 2 and it is fine, no V loss. i turn some knobs, turn it off on. same problem. I swap out all the tubes (yes i can read) and same problem. I now have to push the clean channel volume up to around 11 oclock to get the same volume i was at 3. Any words of wisdom or advice?

Problem #2.... I think it is just a function of having a single coil strat but i am really annoyed by the buzz with amp on git plugged in and it is just sitting there not being played. . Is it just what it is and i have to live with it?

Thanks all.

For problem #1 you might want to take it to a tech if a tube swap didn't fix it

For problem #2 it's most likely a combination of the strat + electronics in the room, so you have to live with it

Bonkers. Thanks.
Elvis, That is not in the spirit. I like what I am doing now. Just turn it up louder.
