Okay, so there's some guy selling a "vintage mesa boogie amp" near me. Has EQ, simul-class, reverb, he said it's 100w. It's a head. Says most of the pots on the front can be pulled out. I'm trying to get some pics. He also said he can't find a serial number, which I asked for. So first of all, I wanna know if this is even a Mark. Secondly I wanna know if it's a IIc+. I know there's the loop tests and all that but I'm not going to drive over an hour to meet up with this guy unless I'm pretty sure it is. Help!

No kidding, that's why I'm trying to get pics from him. He said he's taking them and he's going to email them to me shortly. Also said he found the serial number. So, I'm just waiting for the pictures and I should be able to tell what it is now that there is a serial number involved. But I'll post the pics too for validation.

The one constant in the older Boogies is that there are no absolutes. Anything is possible, regardless of what you read on the internet. Do not jump the gun on a serial #, especially if it is in the 12,000 range.

Even so, it could be one of those odd C+'s that had a serial in the 15000 range. And, the seller said that MOST of the knobs are push/pull. The Mark III's knobs are ALL push/pull. There's still a tiny glimmer of hope in your C+ search. Pics would clear things up for sure. Get them up Pronto.

I don't blame you for wanting a C+. Mine is really everything I'd hoped it would be. But, I also played a IIA that blew me away, and I often flirt with buying one. There are some here who believe the C+ outshines the III. There are also some here who would never part with their III. Point being, maybe this III will capture you. IMO, I'd drive an hour to spend some "quality time" with a vintage Mark amp. You never know what you might find.

But I don't blame you for wanting a C+ :D

well, truth is I want a roadster or a mark v. This was just a fantastic deal ($1000). So if that were a mark iic+ at that price, then hell ya!

id say my IIc+ outshines my III++ hands down! , but my III was a great amp as well....

haven't got them yet. I'm guessing he isn't going to do it. I'll try again.
