Have dos the V4 effect the sound of the DRG c+ ?

Hi

Started up my amp today , right away i could hear the sound was all over the place with weird sounds, it pretty much sunded like broken crap .

I quickly inspected the tubes and could see that my RFT 12ax7 that is in V4 was not glowing at all, i replaced it with a GE 12ax7 i have in spare.

Then the amp was fine, but to my ears it sounded 10 % better in the lead channel when i had a RFT in V4,the clean channel is much the same, conclusion so i will quickly buy another RFT BUT.

Can the V4 tube really effect the lead sound that much, or is my ears that are playing tricks on me ?

V4 handles the reverb input and lead output.

The only way to describe my amp in lead mode now with the Ge is it completly lakcs have harminic richness to the tone it had before with the RFT´s in the V4

I have now tried 6 different 12ax7 tubes and one ecc82 in V5 the phase inverter.
