There's a hand written date to the left of my serial number plate. Is this a Mesa Boogie thing, or did someone autograph this amp??

It's a Mesa thing mate. It should be written in silver ink.

Yes, mine is written in silver ink.

If I remember correctly they started doing it in 2009... probably to reduce the number of people calling in with the serial number and asking when their amp was built.

My advice was going to be "at least spring for dinner and a movie first....to keep it from seeming cheap...".

I've gotten to the point where I have to take each hand out for a special evening; they both do different things... LOL
