half-back cab construction

Does anyone know what kind of wood was used when Mesa made the metal grill half back cabs? I'm getting older, and my memory might be fading, but I could have sworn someone told me it was mahogany. After looking inside the cab, I can see pieces of light colored plywood for bracing. It looks like 7-ply.

Mahogany plywood and birch plywood.

18 or 20 mm.

"Marine-grade Birch ply" is what I've always read/thought.
