Mark series Mesa's are the only amps with any tangible 'magic' tone IMO!
I have only had great experiences with Mark amps... Jammed with some guys using an old MK I once and it was awesome... Hey, I still wish I had my green stripe MK III because it had every tone there for me in a combo format.... then I tried a MK IV.... great tone with more control.... Thankfully I finally settled on a Quad pre with the MK IIC and MK III sounds and have never looked back.... But this new MK V? What a reputation to live up to! Must be pretty good...
But... I do think there is a lot of tech in them these days so I imagine that like most of their amps there may be a series II (like the Triaxis, Mark IV A and B's and the Road King II) as they iron out any small bugs after the feedback they get from their players 'on the road'... I read here that the first run is for around 40 custom pieces so I imagine this is how they are thinking...
So... my suggestion... if there are any upgrades to do, it would be much cooler if they put the classic 'mark' stripes on the back with a felt tip marker instead of a name change... and retain that old 'handmade' Mark series vibe!
What do you all think?
What does Mesa think? (yeah... we all know how closely you guys read these posts... !!)
