I'm new to the forum, and also new to the world of Mesa. I'm a long time Soldano player, however just got a 2010 Dual Rectifier multi watt. I had to trade in my Soldano Decatone to get it. I loved the Soldano, but I spent a couple of hours with the Dual Rec and had no doubt it was "my tone". So the Soldano stayed and the Dual Rec came home with me. Three great channels, and some of the most awesome overdrive I've heard come out of a box with tubes. The clean channel walks all over the Soldano also. The Decatone was a 3 channel, but with shared eq. It made things difficult, and now I don't have that problem. I also am in love with the tube rectifiers. I have re-tubed the amp already except for the rectifier tubes. Not sure what to do there as this is the first tube rectified amp I've owned. JJ powers and Tung-Sol/Sylvania/JJ pre's. I'm glad to have finally found what I was looking for and lood forward to being a part of this forum! 8)

Welcome.

You are going to be surprised how many times you find... "your tone". Enjoy the DR.

Thanks for the welcome guys. My cab is a Kustom USA 412 with V30's, straight baffle. I love it. This amp is really kicking ass. I think my favorite mode is vintage in channels 2 and 3. More gain dialed up on channel 3. My main guitar is a Gibson Les Paul R9 with Guitarforce custom wound pups, with my backup guitar being a Gibson Explorer with stock pups. Shoulda done this Mesa thing a long time ago.

Welcome!

Mesa amps have loads of character. So do their owners. Thats why there is an entire forum dedicated to them. Its fun.

Im interested to hear what you think of the guitarforce pups. Ive checked out the website a few times but ive never heard anyone talk about them.

Enjoy!

welcome man

this site is full of great info and people. I got my first dual rec in janurary and havent regretted it for 1 second.

You changed those tubes quickly ! I actually received a "personal favourite front end" pre amp set from euro tubes today in the post . Cant wait to chuck em in after work and see how they sound

Congrats on the New Rect. Do you plan to run a reverb unit through it? Just curious...

I'm running a Rocktron Xpression through the loop along with an ISP Decimator. All MIDI controlled through a RJM Mini Amp Gizmo. The Guitarforce pups are the best I've ever used, a Rockdriver for the bridge and a neck wound to match up perfectly. The Rockdriver is the clearest most defined pup wound @ 14.5K I have ever heard. It screams. And the neck gives the perfect non-muddy compliment. 8)
