Have the chance to get a mark IIc bare-bones combo for 550 bucks, should i go for it? 60 watts, no reverb, no geq...

worth it to get it upgraded to a IIc+?

It will cost 350-400 for the upgrade plus the shipping to and from plus whatever else it needs. Say 450 total.
Figure 550 plus the 450 puts you at a grand. I would say it is worth it.
Would yo buy a C+ (upgraded or otherwise) for 1000 that has been freshly upgraded and cleaned etc..
You really won't loose anything on it at that investment. Plus you get a C+. What could be better than that?

does it really need an upgrade to sound most excellent? I already have a mark IV, just looking for a slightly different flavor. something less compressed for low-mid gain stuff

so around 550-600 is a fair price for the combo?

If its in good condition i would say yes, as you can proberly tell , the mark II`s are like the Les paul for Gibson, the have a unik sound, and have a kvality to there sound that eny guitar player would benefit from.

I have not heard the 60 watters, no eq , but the are suppose sound sweet.

Are you looking at that cream IIC from washington D.C.? looks great condition... I mean how many tube combo's can you buy for under $600? A studio 22?, DC? SOB? I would buy it but i just bought a HRG IIC head

good luck!
