Hi Guys!

Let me start by saying I'm not looking to flame all the LSS (or LSC) owners.I had an LSC and thought it was absolutely "the best" for my needs. I sold it right after I got the Black Pearl. I also went back to a GC and played a brand new LSS 1x12 they had just gotten in for over an hour. It sounded STERILE compared to the Black Pearl. (I ran a Gibson LP throught it at the GC for the comparison)

For those of you who own the LSS / LSC I would say that we're all probably "tonally" in the same ball park. So if you guys think I'm crazy I suggest that when you have a chance go check out one of these amps, just listen to it and then be honest. If you love the same kind of tone as me ..................... it's gonna blow you away. I was shocked. As a matter of fact before I had even gotten the amp I had told my wife that I'd probably return it. (it couldn't be better than the MESA)

30w / 15w/ 8w single channel. I use a Gristle King over drive which gives me 2 additional channels of OD (sorry, better than the LSC) with NO CHANNEL SWITCHING DELAYS. (I always hated that) And believe me, at 30 watts, this thing is "freak'n LOUD" but you don't loose the chime and still have outstanding fullness & tone at 8 watts. (and a very happy wife)

A 12" 30 watt Alnico speaker which is "matched" to the power of the amp.
No matter which power level you choose, pure tonal heaven, you get great "cone movement" from the speaker at any volume.

All the EQ controls are "INDEPENDENT" so no "one" control will dominate the other unless you want it to.

Aside from an outstanding EQ section there are 5 additional "voices" available that "tweak" the tone for you with the turn of a switch.

The amp is built like a tank. Even the tube retainers are so heavy duty I couldn't believe it. (not thin wires like Mesa uses on the 84's)

I called and spoke with Jeff Genzler and told him that the amp simply "blew me away." He's a real nice guy and said they looked at ALL the amps in this class, took all the things that they "didn't like" and then improved them. You know what? HE REALLY DID!

The reverb in the Mesa is better. That's it.

I haven't dialed in my T-5 yet, but the LP '58 RI & G&L Legacy sound incredible through this amp. It's like I bought some brand new, real high end, guitars.

It kind of saddened me at first to hear how much better this amp sounded than the Mesa. But then I realized I have an amp that sounds as good as the "boutique amps" costing 3 times the amount. Hey, it works for me!

I know I'm probably going to recieve a ton of "hate mail." But that will be from people who are using their emotions and not their ears. Guys, you gotta check out this amp. If you love your LSS this thing will knock your socks off.

Sorry Mesa.

Thanks for the review ill check it out for sure. Ive been back and forth with the idea of getting a RKII for the clean channel and bells and whistles, but my TriRec is so awsome I cant be bothered at the moment. So my other option was to get a amp just for cleans and throw down a a/b channel changer...the black pearl may fit the budget.

I dont think there is anything wrong with your post at all, it brings the consumers collective tastes to Mesa's attention and forces the entire industry to make positive changes. Your post is refreshing and proves that Mesa owners buy Mesa products because they are top of the line in performance, and not an empty name.

Ill look into this, great find
Thanks,
David.W

(besides alot of Mesa owners trust Genz Benz and some even prefer the g-flex 2x12 4x12 cabs)
