If you check out part one of this thread you,ll see how i use a ts-9 as a clean mid boost with a distortion pedal to stack the gain for a cool lead sound. As mentioned my favorite mesa amp is the mark 3 as you can run channel 2 into channel 3(by leaving them both on!) for the same effect...super cool. It,s worthy to note that when not using the pedal idea, or using a mark 3(which has the built in ability to gain stack) you can get the same effect by running a mid boost/clean boost pedal up front going into the lead channel of your amp instead of another pedal.I sometimes employ this idea for example with my .50 caliber.Don't use 2 high gain pedals the result is mush not tone!!!(unless that's what your after)It,s interesting to note that running a distortion pedal into a mid/clean boost instead of the other way round will give you a different sound and feel...it,s worth trying and you might even prefer the tone!
