fx loop problem on dual rec 3ch, help!

Newbie here so forgive my lack of post cred. I have a 3 ch dual rec and the foot switch assignment doesn't work. Loop works fine when set to on or Assigned to 1 2 or 3, but when I assign it to the foot switch I get no loop but master output still works. I've toyed with send n return levels but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am now forced to run my mod, delays n decimator out front, and I would like to be able to tap dance at my own leisure, not when my pedAL chain deems it appropriate.Thx in advance.

There is a ribbon cable that connects to the fx loop knob on the inside of the amp...it could have came loose.
