The manual says this..".When the loop is engaged it reverses the phase of the amp"...(Pg.41) So you may be hearing the diff between the two. As far as the dreaded tone suck...If you are recording..use the least amount of stuff in the chain. If you are playing live...after the drummer and the bass player kick in...and anybody else..NOBODY will notice any of the subtle differances we notice when playing at home. +2 on the comment about master volumes..
